IT will be an all Helston RBL team knockout final in the West Cornwall Winter Pool League this year.
Helston RBL A defeated defending champions Wendron CC 5-3 at Breage SC, while Helston RBL B edged out Helston CC A 5-4 at Wendron CC.
Back in the league, Wendron CC look to have things sewn up, needing just five points from their remaining two games to ensure the title is theirs. Last week they defeated Helston CC A 5-4.
Helston RBL A lost the first two singles, but won all the remaining games for a 7-2 victory over the Prince of Wales, while Helston FC A defeated Helston RBL B 6-3 to remain a distant third.
Helston RBL B had a fine 5-4 win over White Hart B and singles wins from Ben Charity, Graham Reader, Ben Evans, Deb Pryor and Graham Allinson helped Lizard FC A to a 7-2 win over the Seven Stars.
In division two, Paris B defeated the White Hart A team 7-2 last week and a win out of one of their last two games should secure the title.
Helston RBL F have opened a small gap in second, and despite a close 5-4 win over Praa Sands last week, their two nearest rivals for second both lost. White Hart C lost to Paris A 7-2, Nick Kemp, D Durbin, Duncan Patton Snr, Duncan Patton Jnr and Spencer Pryor and the Bell lost 5-4 to the Red Lion.
The Star had a fine 6-3 win over the Tophouse.
A 5-4 win for the Godolphin Club in division three may well be enough to give them the title. They have a seven point lead over Breage SC A with both teams only having one game remaining to play. Breage SC A lost 6-3 to White Hart D last week.
Wins from Len Ellison, Dave Norton, Roger Daniels and Karly Claydon helped Lizard FC B to a 6-3 win over Gweek A, while the late season good form of Tophouse B continued as they defeated Porthleven FC B 7-2.
Three Tuns B and Crown Inn B need four points each to be ensured of first and second in division four, with both team gaining 8-1 wins last week. Three Tuns defeating Gweek and the Crown defeating the Lion and Lamb B team.
Wins from John Horn, Martin Nolan, Barrie Martin, Tom Tree and Martin Fitzgerald helped Lion and Lamb A to a 7-2 win over Helston CC B and the Queen's Arms. Breage edged out the Harbour A team 5-4.
