OVER the past two weekends Camel Valley Cycling and Triathlon Club have hosted two time trials over a distance of 10 miles. Each was held in the Ladock Valley just east of Truro and the combined times of both events provided the final results.

Martin Bawden of www.cyclelogic.co.uk based in Helston and who lives and trains in the Lizard area continued with his superb early season form and finished both events with a combined time of 45-53 for the 20 miles in total.

He was backed up by team mate Stuart Pickering who finished in second place overall and Matt Lewis of Tri-logic sealed the top three places.

The first race was fought in cloudy windy conditions making the longest leg to the turn at Brighton Cross roundabout difficult in the head wind. This was clearly shown to be the case with Bawden's time being over 30 seconds quicker for the 10 miles in warmer sunnier conditions this past weekend.

Top ten results were: 1, Martin Bawden (www.cyclelogic.co.uk), 45-53; 2, Stuart Pickering (www.cyclelogic.co.uk), 47-28; 3, Matt Lewis (Tri- logic), 48-21; 4, Ian Bedford (Plymouth corinthians), 50-09; 5, Arthur Burke (Camel Valley Cycling and Triathlon Club (Dales Renault), 50-13; 6, Dan Young (Plymouth Corinthians), 50-23; 7, John Trott (Devon and Cornwall Police) (Bikechain-Ricci), 50-32; 8, Robin Brown (Camel Valley Cycling and Triathlon Club (Dales Renault) , 50-38; 9, Dan Murphy (Tri-Logic), 52-39; 10, Ann Burnett (Camel Valley Cycling and Triathlon Club (Dales Renault), 55-13.
