THE relegation fight in division one of the Whirlwind Sports Falmouth-Helston League looks like it will go to the wire with a number of clubs sweating on results.
Penryn Athletic III gave their hopes a boost with a welcome 3-2 win against Helston. David Angell and Daniel Dayton had the first two goals, but veteran Martin McGhee weighed in with a spectacular 40-yard winner.
Chacewater picked up important points with a 4-1 win against Holmans after scoring through Chris Tolley, Dan Slack, Tom Dunstan, and Justin Bennetts.
Nick Slade hit a hat-trick in Wendron's 4-2 win against Hayle III and goals from Andrew Philpott (2), Simon Adams, and Mike Cudlipp paved the way for Falmouth Albion's 4-0 win at Trispen.
Truro City III went down 2-1 at home to Stithians and Falmouth Athletic and Mousehole Res drew 2-2.
Division two favourites Falmouth Town III defeated Wendron Res 4-2 with goals from Fynn Magneson, Tim Hurrell, Mike Moore and Lee Miller.
Andrew Julian scored the only goal of the game in Mawnan Res' 1-0 win at Hayle III and Terry Bryant scored for Rosudgeon-Kenneggy in their 1-1 draw with Mawgan United.
John Smith scored for St Keverne against Perranporth Res in their 1-1 draw, but he also missed a crucial penalty.
St Day Res were beaten 3-2 at home by Pendeen and Jamie Atkins and Brendan Dennis scored for Carharrack in their 2-2 draw with Helston III.
In division three Ryan James (3), Tom Richardson (2), Scott McCormick (2), and Andy Heard scored for Falmouth Albion Res in their 8-0 win against Cury.
Mark Rapsey scored from the penalty spot to earn Frogpool/Cusgarne a 1-1 draw at Ruan Minor and Stuart Hull and Peter Norfolk scored for Camborne Park in their 2-0 win against Lanner.
