NIGEL Waters was elected as the new club captain at Praze Golf Club's annual general meeting on Wednesday. Anna Harry is the new honorary secretary, Jim Blain, remains as honorary treasurer and Colin Cratchley, Steve Strick and Francis Vickerstaffe were elected as committee members. Nigel will appoint his vice-captain shortly.
Chris and Richard Dunn won the men's four ball better ball on Sunday morning with 54 nett. Tony Boyce and Steve Lugg were second with 55 nett and Chris Bowden and Tony Semmens third with 56 nett on the last nine holes from Alun Dixon and Nigel Waters.
Jennifer Chambers won the ladies' Barbara Loveday trophy on Saturday afternoon with a fine 38 points. Barbara Wilkins was second with 37 and Lou Archer third with 35.
Lou Archer won card two of the Pilcher Trophy (nine-hole Bogey-plus) with +1 on countback from Kate Phillips. David Phillips was third with -1 on countback from Barry Knowles.
Jackie Quick won the ladies' nine-hole medal on Wednesday morning with 32.5 nett. Ann Seabrook was second with 36 and Anna Harry third with 36.5.
Star Cup (card one-medal) nett results: 1, Jennifer Chambers -34; 2, Barbara Wilkins -35; 3, Elizabeth Murrish -36; 4, Linda Gale -36; 5, Hilda Tyack -36. Wendy Keys won the putting competition.
The third card of the Pilcher Trophy (medal) takes place on Friday. The Sandum Salver mixed foursomes (Stableford - drawn partners) takes place on Saturday afternoon and the men play a singles Stableford on Sunday morning.
Next week the ladies play a nine-hole Stableford on Wednesday morning and the Ogres meet on Wednesday afternoon.
