A Penryn man has been arrested on suspicion of stalking and harassment following an incident in at Playing Place yesterday, when three people reported feeling unwell after coming into contact with a package.
The 47-year-old was arrested this morning and has been taken into police custody at Camborne police station.
Police, along with the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service hazard materials team in haz-mat suits and ambulance crews, were called to an address on Penhalls Way, Playing Place, at around 1.45pm yesterday.
All three occupants were checked over by paramedics. Two were treated for minor injuries at the scene and did not require hospital treatment, the third occupant was uninjured.
Police are awaiting laboratory results after the package was taken away for forensic examination, and Truro CID will be launching an investigation into the incident.
No other properties in the area are believed to have been affected.
Chief Inspector Ian Drummond-Smith, based in Truro, said: “I would like to reassure residents that this is a very unusual incident and the wider community are not believed to be at risk. We will now be carrying out a focused investigation.”
