LUDGVAN 2 CULDROSE ACES 5
THIS was the very last fixture of the season in this league, and both sides needed the win to become champions.
Culdrose started the more tentative, and Ludgvan took full advantage of this, scoring within the first five minutes. This was the wake up call the Aces needed, and they responded immediately, scoring from a corner. The second Aces' goal came from their free kick mAestro, Jack Glover, hitting an unstoppable shot straight into the top corner.
The third before half time, saw Ludgvan not clearing the ball, and Ashleigh Lawrence collected the ball and with great composure slid it under their 'keeper.
Ludgvan got themselves back in the game and at 3-2 in the Aces favour, Culdrose stepped up a gear, with Paul Preston the Aces' skipper, solid throughout, and Dell Arastch who is immense in defence holding firm. Kate McGuiness played her part in this game, and has been integral to Culdrose' defence this season.
Ryan Yung caused problems for Ludgvan immediately after coming on, sending Owen Boyall away who in return sent Ashley Lawrence away to score his second.
Charlie Hearn, was always in command in the Aces' goal, and there was no coming back for Ludgvan.
Owen Boyall completed this fine victory by scoring from close range.
Steve Glover and Dwaine Boyall, Culdrose Aces' coaches, expressed their thanks to all the parents associated with this exceptional group of children, for their great support this season. They have all played their part in the Aces' success.
