A shoal of grey mullet has returned to the National Maritime Museum Cornwall's tidal pool. After six month away in warmer climes, at least twelve grey mullet can be seen from the Museum's Tidal Zone.
Graham Lewis, the Museum's Boat Collection Assistant, who counts the fish daily, said: "It's great to see the mullet back for the summer. They are now old friends of the museum and although we're not entirely sure what's bringing them our way, they are a favourite amongst children and adult visitors alike."
The Museum's Tidal Zone is a natural underwater viewing location and is a favourite amongst visitors, bringing them closer to the sea. Now, the grey mullet can be seen through the 6m viewing windows along with other resident species, such as small crabs, Gobies and brightly coloured wrasse.
