Police are appealing to the public for help in establishing the last known movements of a man whose body was found at Perranuthnoe Beach near Penzance.
The body of 69 year-old Hugh Linnane, from Wellingborough in Northamptonshire, was discovered in the sea by a member of the public on Saturday, July 11, at around 4.30pm, and police, coastguard, lifeboat and ambulance services all attended, before he was declared dead at the scene.
Officers trying to piece together Mr Linnane's final few days have issued a photograph of in hopes jogging somebody’s memory to any sightings of him or any knowledge of his whereabouts.
DC Mark Simcox from Penzance CID said: “We would like to speak to any local hoteliers or bed and breakfast owners in the area to look at their guest registers and to contact us if Hugh Linnane stayed with them.
"We are keen to trace his final days to find out how he ended up in the water.”
The death is not being treated as suspicious
