LURED to Cornwall by no more than the promise of a pasty, a pint and a trip to the beach, Lo Recordings boss, Jon Tye will be DJing in Falmouth on Friday.

Jon will be playing at the reinvigorated Deconstruction nights which have been running at the Q Bar on the Moor since October with just resident DJs Kingsley Marshall and Karl Phillips playing an eclectic mix.

The club was recently chosen by The Guardian newspaper as one of the top four clubs in Britain and lauded by the NME, i-D, Ministry, Mixmag, Muzik, Ice, Wax and 24-7 as one of the leading nights in the UK.

"Not bad," says Kinglsey "for a free night in a tiny bar with two idiots who aren't very good at mixing."

Jon says he is "partial to anything weird and wonderful". His label has released material from the likes of Japanese uber producer Susumu Yokota, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Blur, Mike Flowers, Four Tet and acclaimed London trio Rothko.

The output has proved something of a magical musical mystery tour, with sleuth rock rubbing shoulders with tidal ambience and skittish electronics kicking down to lowly Orleans blues.
