TRURO City under-ten Lions continued their successful season by winning the 2007 R and T Mullion tournament. Held over four days, teams from across England competed in this prestigious event. The Lions, after winning the Kernow League for the second year running, were determined to show the quality of young footballers in Truro.

Graham Ware, manager, said: "We have two under-ten teams and we decided to bring them both to Mullion this year. Both teams were superb and got through to the semi-finals - where they had to play each other!"

The Lions won the derby fixture 4-0 and went on to play Cadbury Athletic in the final. Athletic had only conceded four goals in qualifying and had lost only one game. Unfortunately for the Cadbury team it was the Lions who had scored the goals and taken the points off them.

Truro went into half-time with a narrow one-nil lead from a darting run by their captain who delivered the ball for the Truro striker to score.

The lead was extended when a well-executed corner kick and shot that left the Cadbury's keeper with no chance. The final score was 2-0 and the Lions accepted their trophy from Martin Peters MBE, scorer of the second goal in the 1966 World Cup.
