IF it works for Wayne Rooney and Manchester United - then why not Truro City footballers?
All members of the first team are being put through their paces at Just Vibes in Truro in the run up to FA Vase final at Wembley next month.
The studio in Edward Street is an authorised Power-Plate studio offering the first whole body vibration technolongy in Cornwall. The team will be taken through a series of squats, crunches, lunges and push-ups in a 25-minute workout, three times a week until May 13.
Owner Claire Steen said: "We know the machines have worked for Manchester United as we've had testimonials from Rob Swire their head physiotherapist, so decided to give the lads a bit of a boost in the run-up to the final. We are proud to support the local team and whatever we can do to increase their chances of winning - we'll do!
"Our fitness coaches will be taking the players through a series of low impact workouts to increase strength, co-ordination and circulation."
She added: "While training on the plate, virtually 100% of all muscle fibres in all muscle groups are recruited. The maximum strength and stamina will increase noticeably - only ten minutes on the Power-Plate will provide the players with results comparable to those of a lengthy, strenuous conventional training session.
"The training will enhance metabolism, resulting in an increase in fat burning and during the session muscles will pump blood into even the smallest blood vessels up to 50 times per second, leading to increased circulation."
