Green-fingered pupils at St Keverne School will be lavishing care and attention on tomato plants over the coming months in a bid to win a prize at a village show this summer.
Members of the St Keverne Gardeners' Society visited the school on Friday to hand out seedlings to the children and dispense advice on looking after the plants.
Society chairman Roger Pearce and member Douglas Stevens showed the youngsters how to transplant their seedlings and nurture them ahead of the society's summer show in August, when the winning tomato plants will be chosen.
