St Austell Brewery has agreed a sponsorship deal to support St Agnes ladies netball team through its award winning ale Tribute.
The deal is part of the brewery's ongoing and wide-ranging support for Cornish sports clubs and association, including gig rowing, rugby and athletics.
The St Agnes sponsorship money will be put towards kitting out the ladies first, second and upcoming third team. The players will now have smart new jackets bearing the Tribute.
Both the first and second teams have had an exceptionally strong year with both set to be promoted to higher divisions for the start of the next season.
Carolyn Garman, St Agnes Netball club chairman said how great it was to have Tribute backing them. She said: "We're delighted to have St Austell Brewery's Tribute Ale sponsoring the club.
"Real ales may most commonly be associated with the male drinker but the St Agnes Ladies are more than happy to break this tradition and celebrate with a pint of Tribute after a match."
Jeremy Mitchell, St Austell Brewery Head of Marketing, said: "St Austell Brewery and its pubs are right at the heart of the community in Cornwall and so we are delighted to be supporting St Agnes ladies netball team through our Tribute brand.
"Both teams have had exceptional seasons both winning their leagues. With Tribute recently being voted the regions favourite Cask ale by the public and being honoured Supreme Champion' by the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) it appears we have a winning combination."
Just last week Tribute ale was announced as the people's choice as the South West's favourite cask ale in the first Best of British Beer Awards. It followed a beer election, held in local pubs across the area organised by industry watchdog Cask Marque and the Daily Telegraph.
