A fascinating book about a well known Cornishman has bounced back onto the shelves in paperback so well received was it first time round.
A Radical Aristocrat from Tabb House, is about sir William Molesworth of Pencarrow and is written by Alison Adburgham.
It is a book which takes a novel look into upper class life in the Victorian age showing some of its intellectual vigour, sense of duty, extravagance, and frivolity - the first two illustrated here mainly by Sir William Molesworth and the last two by Andalusia, his wife.
The fruits of these characteristics have been bequeathed in solid buildings such as public libraries in towns throughout the country and large houses like Pencarrow, which was developed by the Molesworths into the mansion that it is todays. Andalusia has made another lasting contribution, the entertainment provided by Alison Adburgham's description of her life from the time she met and then married Sir William.
A Radical Aristocrat is published by Tabb House, Padstow, ISBN 9781873951514.
