A new edition of the Cornish classic - "The Devil and the Floral Dance" - has been published in time for this year's Helston Flora Day.
The book, which was first written in 1978, tells the tale of St Michael, patron saint of Helston, visiting the town on Flora Day and encountering his ancient adversary, the Devil.
Written by Cornish-born author DM Thomas, who lives in Truro, the original version is now out of print.
Cornish publishers Fal publications decided to produce a revised and updated edition of the book, with new illustrations by Cornwall-based illustrator and designer Linda Selby.
Victoria Field, from Fal publications, said: "When the original book came out it was a national publisher and it kind of disappeared in Cornwall.
"We wanted to bring it back into Cornish consciousness. The story may be 20-years-old but it is basically about good and evil and there are all sorts of parallels with the modern world."
Ms Field said the book was "a great read" for adults and children of all ages and was packed with fascinating information about the Helston Flora.
