Talented young writers and artists from schools across Helston and the Lizard Peninsula have gathered together to produce an anthology of work which they hope will then be published.
Pupils from nine different primary and secondary schools have been meeting at Parc Eglos Primary School in Helston to work on the anthology.
Budding Wordsworths have been writing poetry for the anthology, while the artwork and illustrations have been provided by talented young artists from the schools.
Youngsters involved in the project come from Parc Eglos, Germoe, Wendron, Landewednack, Garras, Sithney, Nansloe and St Martin primary schools, as well as Mullion Comprehensive School.
Rachael Giddings, year six teacher at Parc Eglos, explained: "The idea is it's getting enthusiastic young writers from various schools in the area together in a poetry group to challenge and extend their literary work and come up with an anthology that will be published and available to schools."
She added that it was part of an initiative that encouraged links between schools. The project was only supposed to last six weeks, but the youngsters were so enthusiastic that it has been extended.
"I think they have enjoyed the challenge as well. The initiative really is bringing pupils together who are skilled with writng and are very motivated," she said.
So far the young poets have studied the work of a number of poets and looked various poetic forms, including haiku and sonnet-writing.
