HELSTON RBL A inflicted defeat on Wendron CC for the third week in a row last week with a 6-3 win over the already crowned champions. Legion had already guaranteed themselves second spot. Wayne Tucker, Jim Hunt, JP Williams and Andy Bright were the Legion winners while Nigel Cowls and Ian Williams lost for Wendron in their hunt for the singles aggregate title.
Helston FC A defeated the Three Tuns 6-3 to finish third and due to the defeat of the Wendron pair Anthony Williams finished up the sole aggregate winner. Defeat for the Tuns put them in a relegation spot.
Helston RBL E finished the season well winning again as they defeated Helston RBL E 5-4, but the win couldn't stop them finishing in bottom spot.
The top two played in division II and although Ben Wilson and Ian Richards had won for Paris B they were 4-2 down against Helston RBL F. However, they won all three doubles to win the match 5-4 and the title. Helston RBL F scored enough points to finish second. Ian Richards (Paris B) currently leads the singles aggregate with Tony Woodhams (Harbour B) and Sean Iball (Red Lion A but Sean can become the sole winner if he wins his singles game in a re-arranged match against the Star Inn.
The Star need five points to avoid relegation and the Crown Inn finished bottom after losing 5-4 to the Tophouse. The Angel finished the season well with a 7-2 win over Paris A.
Godolphin Club confirmed themselves as champions of division III with an 8-1 demolition of Breage SC B. Tim Johnson and Martin Jeffery both won to win the singles aggregate along with Julian Pinto of the Mounts Bay. Lizard FC can still get second with a win while amazingly Gweek C currently third from bottom could still get second if they have a few big wins in their games to play. With games to play the relegation spots still remain open.
Already confirmed as champions, Three Tuns B defeated the Crown Inn B team 5-4, but despite the defeat the Crown were already guaranteed second. Wayne Rogers (Crown Inn) defeated Phil James to win the singles aggregate, but Phil remained second along with Steve Tremayne (Beehive). The Queens Arms finished the season well with a 7-2 win over Helston CC B and the Gweek Inn B team had a superb 8-1 win over the Harbour A team.
Teams should note the Summer League will start on May 14, but fixtures may only be sent out a few days before.
