A Helston farmer is making sure that ASDA customers in Cornwall enjoy locally grown Cornish new potatoes this spring.
The potatoes are available in Cornish stores within hours of leaving the field, ensuring the offering is as fresh as possible for the customer.
Morris Grose of M+A Grose, who farm in Helston, is growing the Cornish New Potatoes for ASDA.
"As a Cornish grower I am delighted to be able to have my crop in-store as quickly as possible. Therefore ensuring the Asda customers are offered quality, fresh, local produce," he said.
Drew Kirk, Asda Buyer said: "It is the earliest new potato to be lifted in Britain. With its unique taste and texture it gives the customer a fantastic start to the domestic season. We actively support the Early Cornish campaign and are very pleased to have a strong regional offer in our stores'.
Local Cornish new potatoes are currently available in the ASDA store near Falmouth and will very shortly be available on the shelves of ASDA Bodmin and St Austell.
