Devoran Church members, together with the local school were putting the finishing touches to the church's 150th anniversary today.

Organisers linked up with school pupils to arrange a display of children's work around the church.

The festivites get under way on Saturday with a church open day during which there will be an organ recital as well as a display of work by the children, flower displays and an exhibition of local history photographs in the church.

Sunday will see a family service and a parade of youth organisation and on Monday where will be a party in the park adjacent to the school at which the Bishop of Truro, the Rt Rev Bill Ind will be present to open the event.

Dancing displays will be held along with organised games, country dancing, pavement art and competitions.

On May 23 there will be a special service of thanksgiving in the church at 7.30pm.
