THE mystery over a car found below the tide line at Maenporth Beach has been left in the hands of the police after it was decided there was no risk to life.
The car was found early on Tuesday morning after seeming to have been deliberately driven onto the beach overnight.
Coastguard Rescue Officers (CRO's) in full Water Rescue gear investigated the car. There were no signs of anyone inside, but there was some significant damage to both the interior and exterior.
Soon after this one of the owners of the vehicle arrived at the beach and after a quick search of the area, alongside the information provided by the owner, it was decided that there was no further risk to life.
The matter was left in the hands of the attending police.
The car was well past the tide line so had been completely covered by the full tide that evening.
