A good time was had by all at a family fun day in Mabe, on Friday.

Mabe Burnthouse Christmas lights committee held the event at the the New Inn pub to raise money for the village Christmas lights, and a total of £150 was raised through a tombola, lucky dip, hook-a-duck, hoopla and facepainting.

Sue Reed, a member of the committee, said: "We must have had at least 30 to 40 families there and, aside from raising money for the Christmas lights, the main point was to have a fun day for children and families to get involved."

The money raised will go towards buying more reindeer rope statue lights to join the 28 existing reindeer that already decorate the streets of the village during the festive season, and more Christmas tree lights may also be purchased.

Thanks go to committee members and organisers, Karen Phillips and Emma Phillips, committee chairman, Anthony Hocking, and pub landlord, Tim Simpkins.
