MEMBERS of the Environment Agency gathered on the Prince of Wales Pier on Thursday to deliver a clear message about climate change.
The Mend of the World is Now campaign has been launched to help raise awareness in the run up to June 5 when the main theme for the World Environment Day will be climate change.
The Environment Agency will be seeking out people to answer three simple questions, they are; what is the number one thing you are doing to help tackle climate change? What one extra thing could you do to help tackle climate change and what is stopping you from doing it?
The aim of the day was to make the public more aware of what is happening in the world and what they can do to help and for these individuals and businesses to in turn help inspire others to reduce their impact on the environment.
People who took the time to answer the questionnaire we rewarded with free jute shopping bags and sun hats.
In 1972, the United Nations created World Environment Day. Ever since, on the June 5 each year, people all over the world raise awareness about environmental issues and participate in all kinds of activities to celebrate the environment.
