Penmount Crematorium has presented Penhaligon’s Friends, which supports bereaved children, young people, parents and carers, with a cheque for £1,301.
The crematorium raises money for charity annually through a number of ways including the remembrance service in June, the carol service in December, and the memory tree in the flower room on different occasions throughout the year.
It chose Penhaligon’s Friends as its charity for 2015. Chantal Worden-Evans, volunteer coordinator at the charity, said: “Penhaligon’s Friends are delighted to have had the support of Penmount Crematorium in Truro over the last year. They raised an amazing sum for our charity which will help us to continue supporting bereaved children, young people and their families and carers throughout Cornwall. It really does mean everything to us - thank you to everyone who supported us."
Susan Cannan, bereavement services manager at the crematorium, said: “The Penmount staff select a charity to support each December and enjoy working towards supporting that charity throughout the following year. It has been very worthwhile due to the wonderful work that Penhaligon’s Friends undertake.”
