A 999 call was made to the emergency services on Sunday afternoon after a tumble dryer caught fire in the garage of a home in Castle View Park, Mawnan Smith.
Ten firefighters on two appliances from Falmouth were called to the scene of the blaze at around 1.30pm at a property measuring 20 x 10 meters which was well alight on crews arrival.
Two breathing apparatus and one hose reel were initially used on the fire. Firefighters requested assistance and a further five firefighters on an appliance from Truro was mobilized to the scene.
Electricity engineers were requested to isolate the electricity, crews used four breathing apparatus, two jets, one hose reel jet and a triple extension ladder to extinguish the fire.
An ambulance was requested to attend to treat one casualty on scene suffering from smoke inhalation.
