This week marks your last chance to borrow books from Helston Library before it temporarily reduces in size and relocates to a new home.
From this Thursday the main library building will be closed, with reduced facilities moving to the One Stop Shop at Isaac House, in the Coinage Ope alleyway leading to the Tyacke Road car park.
Here they will stay for around three months, while major redevelopment work is carried out on the library building in the Trengrouse Way Car Park.
A £181,000 revamp will see the library, One Stop Shop and JobCentre Plus all brought under one roof, with the building expected to reopen to the public by the end of November.
The refurbishment will also include the creation of a new children's library area and an interview room.
Until then, library services can be used at Isaac House from 9.30pm until 5pm every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and also on Saturday between 10am and 1pm. The ‘library’ will be closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Customers will be able borrow books and have access to a public computer. It will also be possible to place reservations online free of charge and the items will be delivered to Isaac House for collection or to any other library in Cornwall.
The number of books that can be borrowed will be increased to 36 during this time and books borrowed during the first month in Isaac House will have an extended loan period.
Library users will still need to bring their library card with them.
