REDRUTH perhaps deserved a share of the points away to early-season One and All Sports mining League division one pacesetters Troon although they allowed Troon to boss much of the second half.

Troon went ahead after 22 minutes when Stuart Smeeth weaved his way through after beating the offside trap, but minutes later Michael Poultney made his way to the edge of the box and had a shot cleared only to see the onrushing Simon Barrand smash a lovely shot into the back of the net from 12 yards out.

As the second half wore on, Troon upped the stakes and midway through Nicky Richards pushed his way through the Redruth defence to score the winner.

Redruth's Reserve side are still searching for their first league win, whereas for Titans it was their first. Redruth were a poor team in the first half and trailed 4-1, Guy Johnson scoring their only goal.
