There were debut games for prop Philip Ashley and former Helston colt Ryan Boulton who was playing at wing forward.
It was nip and tuck in a lively first half with Helston edging proceedings with two tries by Steve Trethowan and Dan Lockey, and a penalty and a conversion by Trethowan with Helston replying through a try by Adam Wood and a conversion and penalty by Watson.
Helston score two further tries in the second half as they took command with No eight Jeff Kitto being pushed over by the pack and an unconverted try by winger Colin Taylor whose pace left the visitors' defence spreadeagled. Kitto's try was converted by Trethowan On Saturday Helston have another home game when they entertain Perranporth.
