Hundreds of entries flooded in by post, phone and text for the Packet's Perfect Pets competition and the clear winner was Max, a two-year-old Border Collie, owned by Tina Seymour, of Gloweth, Truro.
Tina wins £25 from the Packet plus a canvas mounted portrait of Max from Ultimate Photography, of Penryn, who offer a wide range of photographic services.
Tina said that Max likes cuddling up to slippers but has lately taken to putting his paws in them. "He can't survive without cuddles," said Tina. "We love him to bits!"
Although Packet readers voted Max as their clear favourite, two other entries also attracted strong support - Purdie, owned by Liz Clifford, of Elm Grove, Feock, and Suzy Smith, a Yorkshire terrier, from Brook Place, Penryn.
More than 150 readers submitted pictures for the Packet's Perfect Pets competition and these were all published in a special supplement last month when readers were asked to select a winner.
