BUDOCK: ST BUDOC PARISH CHURCH: The Service of Sung Eucharist on Sunday was led by the Rev Geoffrey Bennett. The organist was Mr R Fletcher. Lessons were read by Dr P Garland and Mr A Bennett with the Gospel being read by Mr Bennett. Mr Bennett's sermon was the first of a series about the way the church should go in the 21st Century.
Earlier in the week, many people attended the evening of prayer and praise when Lungile Cengimbo gave his last talk before moving on to pastures new within the Diocese. Mr Bennett thanked the congregation for all the hospitality and meals that they had offered Lungile. He had been very taken with the use of guitars in some of the worship and the church was delighted that it had been able to provide him with a guitar to take home with him, generously donated by a member of the congregation, together with a case and spare strings. Lungile was keen to travel around his very large parish in Umzimvubu complete with guitar to lead the worship and the singing.
