HELSTON: ST MICHAEL'S CHURCH: Parish Communion was celebrated by the Rev Dorothy Noakes, assisted by Betty Booker, lay reader, with the Rector, Canon David Miller, preaching the sermon and leading the prayers. Tony Rule read the lesson, a passage from Deuteronomy, which formed the basis of the sermon, together with the celebration, this week, of 40 years since the foundation of the St Michael's Prayer Healing Group.
Only the "Bubbles Group" of Junior Church was able to report back, but the little ones showed how well they had learned about Peter and his topsy-turvy love for Jesus.
METHODIST CHURCH: Adrian Hendy led the morning worship, assisted by John Lucas. They performed a short sketch entitled How to Swim for the children, and accompanied several hymns on their guitars. John preached the sermon on commitment. The organist was Nigel Dower. The evening Allsorts traditional service with communion was led by the Reverend Andrew Hill.
DEGIBNA: METHODIST CHURCH: The communion service on Sunday was held at The Clies and was conducted by the Rev Andrew Hill. John Bilkey welcomed the residents who attended the service. Joyce Oliver was the organist.
LOWERTOWN: METHODIST CHURCH: Paul Benney was the worship leader and organist for Sunday's service. Paul read from Philemon and spoke of how the Christian church is facing up to accepting change.
