PORTHLEVEN: APOSTOLIC CHURCH, THOMAS STREET: On Friday, the Rock Solid BBQ was a great success, launching the restart of the meetings after the summer break. The coffee morning on Saturday was also well attended.
On Sunday, Pastor Glen Chaplin spoke about bringing the healing love of God to this hurting world. In the evening service the guest speaker, Andrew Chapple, continued with this message.
Events at the church this week mark the start of a very full autumn schedule and everyone is invited to participate. On Tuesday evenings at 7pm a course of meetings on Evangelism will take place, beginning with Phil Misselbrook (from Ambassadors for Christ) talking about one to one Evangelism. On Thursday mornings, the Jolly Tots (parents and toddlers group) meets between 10am and 12 noon. A great meeting place for parents of children from 0 to three years. On Friday, 5.30pm-6.30pm, the Rock Solid Kids' Club meets. This club is for children aged five to 11 years and offers crafts, stories, games, competitions, DVDs and songs to help the children learn Christian values. Every Friday evening at 7pm a prayer meeting takes at the church. Saturday/Sunday, Pastor Chris Hinton and his wife Roz from the West Midlands. On Saturday, 9am, men's breakfast (cost £3) at the church when the guest will be telling his life story. On Saturday evening from 7.30pm Roz Hinton will be talking to ladies about realising potential. The guests will also be speaking at the Sunday services, 10.45am (a crèche facility is provided) and at 6pm.
Forthcoming Events: The Macmillan Coffee Morning takes place on Friday, September 28. On Sunday, October 7, an Alpha Course will commence. On October 21, Nia, an international Gospel singer, will be performing at the church.
