Falmouth RNLI are £500 better off this week after a new clothing store opened in town and handed over the money. Musto, known for its marine clothing, opened on Discovery Quay and added a touch of glamour when Miss Cornwall, Vikki Omlo, officially cut the ribbon. It was also Miss Omolo who handed over the cheque to the RNLI's Dave Nichol "Falmouth is an obvious choice for the Musto brand, with its bustling town, outdoor lifestyle and rich sailing and sporting heritage," said Simon Payne, marketing director.

Musto was founded by Olympic Sailor Keith Musto, who developed patent clothing technologies to make the world-leading sailing apparel that keeps users warm, dry and protected against the elements.

It was the second time in a couple of months that the Falmouth RNLI had benefitted from a new store opening. In August Tesco opened their new store in the same area and also handed over a three figure sum to the lifeboat.
