THE Rover Cup - one of the competitions cancelled earlier in the year due to bad weather - was held at Mullion Golf Club on Saturday.
In ideal conditions - at last a summer's day - over 50 players entered the 18-hole medal competition.
An early starter, Nigel Norton returned a 65 net to lead the field almost to the end then Kevin Goldsworthy, starting almost last scored a 63 net to win the cup and leave Nigel in second place - dramatic stuff.
Results - Division One - 1, D Rowe - 68; 2, L. Ashton - 68; 3, D. Hallett - 69.
Division Two: 1, K. Goldsworthy - 63; 2,N. Norton - 65; 3, K. Willey - 67.
Mullion Juniors played their sixth and final Monthly Medal of the summer in the Alexander and Michael Cup. The best four individual scores will count to provide the winner of the cup.
Results - Division One: 1, Tom Neal - 64 net; 2, Rob Jenkins - 65 net; 3, Max Irwin - 67 net. Division Two: 1, Sam MacWilliam - 69 net; 2, Callum Alexander - 74 net; 3, Sam Orchard - 75 net.
Winner of the best gross score prize was Jamie Sanders Winner of the five-hole black tee competition was Joe Edgerley.
