FALMOUTH police are appealing for more members of the public to attend meetings designed to get them and the community working together to sort out problems.
At the latest meeting of Falmouth PACT (Partnerships and Communities Together) the priorities raised were civic pride, litter and rubbish, noisy student parties, speeding and parking.
But the police say they were slightly disappointed with the turnout and have appealed to more members of the public to attend the meeting to raise their concerns.
"We have set up regular meetings all about what the public and we are trying to find out what the priorities are," said Sgt Graham Claybourn, the man in charge of Falmouth's neighbourhood beat team. "But so far we have had a really low attendance from the general public. We would like the community to tell us what their priorities are because it is a bit disheartening when only a handful of people turn up."
The next meeting of PACT will be at 2pm in the Falmouth Council Chambers, The Moor on Tuesday, November 13 and Tuesday, January 22, 2008.
The next meeting of Penryn PACT will be in Penryn council chambers, Market Street on Wednesday, October 10, Wednesday, January 16, 2008 and April 9, 2008.
