Councillors at Feock have been upset by a Carrick council move to "quietly" pass a plan which involves a two storey extension and extra parking at the Carnon Inn Premier travel inn at Carnon Downs.
There was disquiet because a revised plan had not reached the council office, which is a planning access point at which the public are assured they can see all relevant local plans before decisions are made, in time for this to take place before Carrick acted.
The response to the parish request to have a deferment to allow time for public consultation had been rather "bullish" clerk Alan Truan reported. However after a great deal of effort they were granted a deferment, and this had included a threat by Mr Truan that the access point might as well cease to exist if it was not being being properly acknowledged.
"There is no point in considering plans if a major scheme like this is passed without even a decent set of plans for us to consider. I was quite frightened at one stage that Carrick would take a decision without the parish council having any chance to respond."
