Strong winds in the Isles of Scilly on Monday meant that the cruiseship Van Gogh had to abort her planned call at the islands to land passengers for a day long call.

Instead Van Gogh, a familiar sight in the port, diverted to Falmouth, arriving in the early evening. Passengers disembarked from the ship yesterday morning.

The popular cruiseship sailed later in the day for Bremerhaven where she will drydock prior to starting her world cruise from Falmouth in October.
