PORTHLEVEN: APOSTOLIC CHURCH: On Saturday, a men's breakfast was held at the church with Chris Hinton, pastor of the Apostolic Church in Walsall, West Midlands, giving his testimony. In the evening the ladies enjoyed the "Oasis" event when Roz Hinton spoke about the realisation of potential. Chris and Roz Hinton were guest speakers at the services on September 16. Chris spoke about how to relate to other people wisely, and Roz about how negative attitudes hinder the achievement of God's plan for each of us.
Events at the church this week include: on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. the meetings on Evangelism continue.
On Thursday mornings the Jolly Tots - Parents & Toddlers Group meets between 10 am and 12 noon - a great meeting place for parents of children from 0 to 3 years.
On Friday at 5.30 p.m. until 6.30 p.m. the Rock Solid Kids' Club meets. This club is for children aged 5 to 11 years and offers crafts, stories, games, competitions, DVD's and songs to help the children learn Christian values.
On Friday, at 5.45pm, the Discovery Group recommences. This is an informal study group discovering more about life and faith. The theme this week will be "New Life in Christ". If you wish to attend please contact 01326 560278 as the meeting is not at the church.
On Friday evening at 7 pm, a prayer meeting takes at the church.
On Saturda,y September 22, between 10 am and 12 noon a coffee morning will take place (coffee and home-made cakes).
On Sunday, September 23, at 10.45 am Morning Service, the speaker will be Pastor Glen Chaplin (crèche facility). At 6pm the guest speakers will be Adrian and Elaine Marks from Grapevine, Redruth.
Later events - The Macmillan Coffee Morning takes place on Friday, September 28. On Sunday, October 7, an Alpha Course will commence. On Sunday, October 21, Nia, an international Gospel singer, will be performing at the church.
