TREWENNACK: METHODIST CHURCH: The chapel was beautifully and abundantly decorated for the Harvest Festival service which was conducted by the Rev Aubin De Gruchy, chaplain of Truro School.

Mr De Gruchy introduced his lion and squirrel puppets to the children and also led them in singing Count your Blessings. The Old Testament lesson was from Deuteronomy. The New Testament lessons from Galatians and Matthew were read by David Freeman and Maureen Hayward.

The theme of counting our blessings continued through the service and Mr De Gruchy said that only by sharing what God had given us can we make a feast.

Wendy Pudner was the organist and Val Thorne the pianist. Margaret Eva was the pianist for community singing before the service, which was led by Douglas Wearne.

The Harvest Supper will be on Tuesday, when the profits will be shared between the Methodist Relief and Development Fund and the Children Hospice South West Appeal.

STITHIANS: METHODIST CHURCH: The morning service on Sunday was led by the Rev Danny Reed, and included the Baptism of Keira Beth Downing, daughter of Roger and Lisa Downing.

During the service, Bible and Bible notes were presented to Katie Gluyas, Lucy McMahon and Rebecca Trebilcock to mark their leaving to attend university.

A card was given to Margery Pascoe, a member of the congregation, to mark her 90th birthday. Holy Communion was also observed. The organist was Colin Anthony.

In the evening the Methodist congregation attended a Harvest Concert by "8 in a bar" at St Stythians Parish Church.

BURRAS: BURHOS METHODIST CHAPEL: The morning fellowship service was led by Mr Fred Jenkins, and all the congregation took part.

The offering was taken up by Rebecca and Victoria. The organist was Mrs Janet Hearn. Birthday greetings were offered to Ben, Verity and Emma.

Burhos harvest festival will be on Sunday, October 7, at 11am and 2.30pm. Harvest supper will be on Tuesday, October 9, adults £3.50, children £1.50. The organist was Shirley Mildren and the vestry steward was Tracie Haslem. The flowers were provided by Gillian Lawrance and John Pooley welcomed people to the service.
