THE Packet newsroom receives stacks of correspondence in various different forms, but rarely does it bear witness to a depiction of Jesus Christ through tea leaves.
A woman called Rita Penhaligon submitted the picture to us, describing how she felt when she realised what had happened.
She said: "They show our Lord, Jesus Christ! I was so very excited to see him, I believe its a sign. I do not quite know what this could be but I am hopeful for future contact.
"As you can see in the picture, I managed to split open one of my Typhoo tea bags (I usually prefer Tetley but I am running low on pennies). As you can imagine I was a bit miffed about this and proceeded to throw the split Typhoo tea bag on to the kitchen work surface in rage.
"As you can see in the picture, the tea fell in such a way that it showed the face of the Lord. I have to admit this shocked me immensely but was also rather exciting!
Immediately I ran to my son Jacob (who I was making the tea for), although he was apprehensive he does agree it does look rather like Jesus! My son has helped me attach a photograph of the face below for your perusal."
Wonders will never cease.
