Men wearing dresses and women in false beards will descend on Helston this Sunday in the hope of winning themselves a part in the next Meneage Arts Players pantomime.
The theatre company are putting on the fairytale favourite Hansel and Gretel at the Epworth Hall in January and are now holding auditions for leading roles and chorus parts.
Paul Blaber, chairman of the group, said: "Whether you'd like to be considered for a leading role or to sing and dance in the chorus the Players would like to hear from you. There are a variety of parts suitable for all ages and abilities but enthusiasm and commitment are essential."
He added that the panto would have all the traditional ingredients, including a house made of sweets, and promised to be an ideal treat to banish the January blues.
However, without a cast the panto cannot go on so all budding actors, singers and dancers are asked to call Nikki Roberts, the director, on 01326 563389 to find out more about the auditions and to book tickets.
