WHILE England's women have done well in the World Cup in China, women in Cornwall are being invited to take part in a new football competition.
It's a five-a-side football session every Friday evening from 8pm to 10pm starting on September 28 at the West Cornwall Football Centre at Cornwall College Camborne.
It's being started by Cornwall FA and the college. Morag Robertson, from Cornwall FA, said: "We know it can be difficult for some women to commit to playing 11-a-side every Sunday, so we thought it would be good to provide them with the opportunity to turn up and play on a more informal basis.
"By choosing five-a-side football, there will be an element of competition as the main aim will be playing games. There will be room for new players to learn the game as well and, of course, existing players can make up a team too."
The first two sessions are free. Anyone who is interested can turn up on the 28th or phone 01029 616161 for more details.
