Falmouth Quakers held a candlelit vigil for International Peace Day on Friday.
The event which was held at the Falmouth WI Hall in Webber Street was organised to coincide with Quakers Week which is also celebrated every year.
The vigil included an exhibition of charitable work that the Quakers do across the world in places such as Yugoslavia, Uganda, Palestine, Israel and many more.
A separate room was used for the vigil with a candle burning in the centre of the room where people could go to think and pray quietly for world peace. Falmouth mayor Mike Varney lit the candle at the beginning of the day.
Andrina Cossey, clerk for Falmouth Quakers, said: "It is just a nice and peaceful way to reflect on world peace. We have had quite a lot of people coming in to pray and many others who are just curious about what we are doing and what it means to be a Quaker."
