THE Whirlwind Sports Falmouth-Helston League came alive on Saturday as St Keverne gave notice of their intentions by demolishing previously unbeaten Mawnan 6-2.
Alan Thomas hit a hat-trick for the home side who also scored through Steve Hosking. Gregg Renfree and Mike Bray scored for Mawnan.
Helston Res went one better with a 7-0 trouncing of Wendron III after notching goals through Mark Goldsworthy (3), Chris Matthews, Mike Hallibone and S Rowland.
Falmouth Athletic were 4-0 winners against Hayle III after scoring through Lee Miller, Ben Ambrose, Paul Jeffery, and Joe Perrin.
Mike Moore (2), Tim Hurrell and Jay Durber snapped up the goals in Falmouth Town III's 4-1 win against Stithians and James Franklin and Louis Barr scored for Mousehole Res in their 2-2 draw with Chacewater. Luke Kelland and Mike Elliott scored for Chacewater.
Henry Wilde, John Cropper, and Craig Pollard put Lizard Argyle 3-0 in front against Holmans Res, but in a remarkable turnaround the visitors ran out 5-3 winners.
St Day Res picked up useful points at Penryn Athletic III with a 2-1 win after scoring through Joff Mallaber and Justin James. Craig Southworth had Athletic's goal.
St Agnes went down 4-1 at home to Falmouth Albion.
In division two RNAS Culdrose Res won a high-scoring game with Trispen 5-4 after notching goals through Neil Rudkin (2), Ryan Sharp, Andrew Plenty, and Steve Woodhouse.
A goal from Alex Weddell earned Mawnan Res a hard-earned 1-0 win against Marazion and Adam Lockwood and Steve Hartveld scored for Mawgan United in their 2-1 win against Perranporth Res.

In division three Ben Cox hit a hat-trick for Lanner in their 4-0 win against Troon Res. Lee Goldstone had the other goal.
Rosudgeon/Kenneggy Res and Carharrack Res drew 0-0 and Mullion Res were 3-2 winners at Stithians Res.
Glen Marsden grabbed both goals in St Day III's 2-1 extra time win against Falmouth Ath Res in the Wheatly Cobb Cup. In another tie, Penryn Ath IV were 4-0 winners at Cury.
