Mullion School became an animal hospital when pupils and parents were given a chance to explore a career working with animals.
The school was visited by the Royal Veterinary College Roadshow, with people coming from as far away as Devon to attend.
The staff from the college gave a presentation explaining about the different courses on offer and the entry routes for school leavers. A college student also attended the event and was able to give visitors a glimpse into college life from a student perspective.
The evening was rounded off with interactive stalls, where visitors could practice techniques such as tying sutures, "gowning up" for surgery - which proved to be not as easy as it sounded - and bandaging a puppy, of the soft toy variety. No live animals were harmed during the event.
There was also ample time for people to chat to the veterinary college staff and ask all the questions that they wanted.
Debbie Batley, careers co-ordinator at Mullion School, said: "The comments from visitors about the event were all very positive and everyone commented on how informative the event was - and good fun too."
The Royal Veterinary College is the only dedicated veterinary college in the country, providing courses for those who wish to be vet nurses, vet scientists as well as vet surgeons.
