ALUN Dixon (16 handicap) retained the Giddings Cup (max h/cap 21) at Praa Sands Colf Club on Sunday morning with 61 nett, writes Simon Edwards. Ray Crebo (17) was second with 62, Steve Strick (9) third with 63 and Tony Boyce (21) fourth with 64 on the last nine holes from Tom Hayward, Paul Murrish and Andy Hurrell respectively.

Caz Hardman won the ladies' Stableford on Saturday with 35 points. Elizabeth Murrish was second with 31 and Barbara Wilkins third with 30.

Friday Fun Golf results: 1, Di Lyons, Tony Hosking and Richard Lyons; 2, David Phillips and Francis Vickerstaffe.

Simon Phillips won the weekly Stableford with an outstanding 43 points well ahead of Francis Vickerstaffe in second place with 38 and Barry Lee in third place with 37.

Phyllis Williams won the Ladies' Wednesday nine-hole Stableford with 19 points on countback from Anna Harry. Di Lyons and Connie May shared third place with 17 points as they could not be separated on countback. Barbara Wilkins won the putting competition.

Mike Jacka finished equal second in the Brittainy Ferries Trophy Final in northern Spain.

Richard Dunn won Tuesday's Mount Prospect Trophy with a superb 71-13=58. Ray Pearce took second place with 75-10=65 and Tom Hayward third with 82-16=66.

The Ladies' Invitation Texas Scramble (two ladies and and one man, invited by the Ladies) takes place on Saturday afternoon and the men play for the Ninnis (scratch) Cup, including the Laurie Fogg qualifier, on Sunday morning.

Next week, the mid-weekly Stableford and Friday Fun Night competitions continue, the ladies play a nine-hole Stableford on Wednesday morning and the Ogres meet on Wednesday afternoon.
