September has seen the inaugural Higher Education Freshers' Fair at Cornwall College's Camborne campus for its university course students. With the number of people choosing to study at degree-level in the region increasing every year, the College has gone to great lengths to provide a university experience for its students; including a Student Union and dedicated bar on campus which hosts a range of fun theme nights and live gigs throughout the year.

The Fair was at the heart of induction day for new students who were given a tour of the campus by student ambassadors which included a BBQ. The event was supported by numerous local businesses keen to meet their potential employees of the future. This included RNLI Beach Lifeguards, community Police officers, Eden project, Newquay Zoo, HSBC Bank who talked to students about finance and the University of Plymouth (of which Cornwall College is a partner college). Students at the College helped demonstrate the range of College services including free manicures from the hair and beauty department, booking gym membership, throwing a pot and holiday bookings with the College's own travel agency, Voyagers.

The event was organised by Cornwall College graduate Alex Ledbrooke, who recently completed the Environmental Resource Management BSc Degree, and now works for Cornwall College, "Cornwall College has masses of quality to offer its students. The Induction and Freshers' Fair is a great way to showcase all that is available on the first day of their experience with us". The day ended with a party in the Students Union Bar, with a fun Adam & Eve speed dating ice breaker and DJ.

John Latham, Principal of Cornwall College added, "We are pleased that more students than ever before are choosing to study university courses with us at Cornwall College. We are committed to providing them with a complete university experience."
