A new book has been published detailing the best of the best when it comes to country pubs and inns in Cornwall.

Cornwall is well-known for its countryside and breathtaking landscape with many secluded villages and hamlets which have welcoming country pubs.

Country Pubs and Inns of Cornwall provides details of pubs, including inns and hotels, within the county. In addition to the name and telephone number, many entries provide details of real ales, food, accommodation and facilities such as opening times, entertainment, parking, gardens and children's play areas as well as directions on how to get there.

The book, which is the first regional guide in a series which will eventually cover the whole of the UK, is illustrated with photographs of many of the pubs and surrounding countryside and also includes maps to guide people to the public house of there choice.

Each section starts with general information about the area for travellers to the county or even for residents wishing to explore.

There is even space at the back of the book for readers to make their own notes and even make their own list of their favourite pubs they have visited along the way.

The writer, Peter Long, is an Oxford classics graduate who spent many as an inspector and writer with Egon Ronay's Hotels and Restaurants Guides before joining the Travel Publishing editorial team.

He has written guides covering the West Country, Yorkshire, the North West of England, the Heart of England, the Lake District and Cumbria and many more.

The Country Pubs and Inns of Cornwall is available now through major bookstores and more information can be found at www.travelpublishing.co.uk
