A Truro based solicitor has accepted the position of Hall for Cornwall's honorary vice president in light of its tenth year anniversary.

Peter Dexter of Coodes Solicitors has been working together with Hall for Cornwall founders and volunteers for over 15years.

An avid supporter of the Hall for Cornwall, Peter has provided business advice, support and legal services.

He said: "I am very pleased to be offered such an honour from Hall for Cornwall and I look forward to supporting all it does for many more years.

"I have worked alongside the founders of Hall for Cornwall over the last 15 years or so helping to change dreams into reality. It has been very gratifying to work with people who have been passionate about the need to provide a Hall for Cornwall.

"One of the most rewarding parts of the job has been to see audiences from all parts of Cornwall having the opportunity to see the stars of stage and screen so long denied to them in this county."

There are just a small number of honorary vice presidents at Hall for Cornwall all of whom are carefully chosen to represent the largest presenting theatre in Cornwall and all of its creations.

Hall for Cornwall's director Tim Brinkman said: "Honorary status is limited at the Hall for Cornwall and Peter has certainly deserved his place. Peter has given significant contribution to the theatre since the beginning of the project and we are thrilled he has accepted. "

In November it will be exactly 10 years since Hall for Cornwall first opened its doors.

Since 1997 the award-winning venue has welcomed over 10,000,000 visitors, enjoyed over 2,500 live performances, sold over 1,200,000 tickets as well as having approximately 40,000 people take part in one of its creative workshops.

Hall for Cornwall is the largest presenting theatre in Cornwall, encompassing a wide range of performing arts including drama, dance, opera, and music, including specialist programming for young people.
