RESIDENTS who live close to a park in Redruth, which has been plagued by anti-social youths, have been asked by police to keep a record of incidents in a logbook.
In last week's Packet residents described the situation at Victoria Park as "hell on earth" and the youths were condemned by councillor Graeme Hicks as "scumbags" after a spate of under age drinking and vandalism in the park.
Following further trouble at the weekend, police have now issued residents, who live in Adelaide Road and Albany Road, with Antisocial Behaviour Incident Logbooks.
County and district councillor Graeme Hicks, who lives in Adelaide Road, said: "It is vital for residents to participate in this exercise because the authorities need all the evidence to nail the individuals responsible for this unacceptable behaviour.
"We must act together as a community with the police to make sure the appropriate action is taken against these mindless thugs."
Coun Hicks added that he intended to hold a public meeting in the near future to set up a Park Watch Scheme. If any residents are interested in helping to set up the group they can contact Graeme Hicks on 01209 217605.
