Subsea 7's new state-of-the-art deepwater rigid pipelay vessel Seven Oceans made an overnight call at the docks on Monday before sailing on its first major installation project, for the Chevron Blind Faith development in the Gulf of Mexico.
Carrying two seven kilometre long seven-inch pipes, the ship is bound for Theodore, Alabama, US, for project equipment mobilisation prior to the in-field installation operations that begin later this month.
The vessel has been designed and built especially for deep sea pipe laying and for construction works for the offshore oil and gas industry.
